Personality
Garrett is as sarcastic as they come. He's prone to hide his actual feeling behind a mask of sarcasm and indifference. There are times where he does get angry and can be a bit aggressive. He can be a BIT of an asshole when his temper flares and it does get out of his control sometimes.
Under that mask of anger and indifference, Garrett does have a heart and can be a bit soft when he's around certain people. He doesn't particularly love to show that side of him, especially to strangers.
Come Inquisition, Garrett is a lot more reserved and cynical.
History
Garrett is the oldest son of Leandra and Malcolm Hawke. His upbringing was filled with kindness and love; even when his twin siblings were born a few years later.
Garrett's magic appeared when he was fifteen, a bit later than normal. Malcom taught Garrett everything he needed to protect him and his siblings from harm.
Come the time of DAO, Garrett was proficient in his magic; rarely using it until the Blight consumed his home. He tried ushering his family away from the hoard, unfortunately loosing Bethany in the process.
